Advisory Board

 

MPN is governed by a steering committee  which  consists of: a) representatives from a diverse group of member organizations that have made a commitment to serve on the committee and participate in the work of the committee, b) the executive director, and c) the coalition’s staff. 

Steering Committee Member Organization Representatives
Judith Billage, Esq. is an attorney in private practice in Annapolis for 27 years, and a  past president of the Women's Bar Association of Maryland.

Kim Birnbaum, is Sierra Club MD Chapter, pesticide issues chair, and a Howard County Sierra Club group Executive Committee member.

Veronika Carella, Howard County Chapter, MD PTA, is a former chair of the PTA Council  of Howard County’s Environmental Health Committee and a member of the Council  since 2001

Lorne Garrettson, M.D., MD Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics, is a pediatrician and medical toxicologist involved in the management of poison control centers and the care of poisoned patients for 40 years. He has served on the faculties of medicine at several universities.

Richard Humphrey, M.D., Baltimore Chapter of Physician’s for Social Responsibility, has been on the faculty of the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, and the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health for more than 47 years.

David Kosmos, Project Associate, Maryland Public Interest Research Group (MaryPIRG),spearheads MaryPIRG’s toxics program which advocates for safer alternatives to toxic chemicals in consumer products.
Lawrence Plumlee, M.D., Chemical Sensitivity Disorders Association, has been president of the Association’s board for the past 10 years. He is also on the board of the International Center for the Study of Psychiatry and Psychology.

Jo Anne Schropp, R.N., M.S.N., Maryland Nurses Association (MNA), is a Psychiatric Nursing Clinical Instructor at Howard County Community College.
